Worth writing about

• Corrections. A figure that cannot be right, a lender credited with loans that are not theirs, a definition applied inconsistently between two pages. These are the most useful messages I get. Include the page and the figure and I can usually trace it back to the source row.
• Lender identity. The SBA files identify lenders by name, and names change through mergers, rebrands and inconsistent spelling. If your institution is split across two entries, merged with another, or named wrongly, tell me — that is a resolution problem on my side, not a data problem on yours.
• Questions about the data. What a field means, why two figures disagree, whether a comparison is sound. Ask before you cite something.
• Press and research. Happy to explain the method, confirm a figure before you publish it, or point you at the underlying release.

What this site is not

It is not a lender, a broker, or a loan marketplace. No application can be made here and none is passed to anyone. If you are seeking finance, the lender rankings are a starting list of institutions that have funded businesses like yours before — you approach them directly.

It has no relationship with the SBA. This is independent analysis of a public record, with no affiliation with or endorsement by the U.S. Small Business Administration. For questions about your own SBA loan, your loan status, or a programme rule, contact the SBA or your lender. I have no access to any of it.

Nobody pays to be listed or ranked. Sponsorship enquiries are welcome and there is a subject for them above — but placement in the data is not what is for sale, and never will be. Requests to move, add or remove an institution in any ranking are declined, and anything sponsored will be labelled as such and kept off the data pages. The rankings are a reading of the public record; see the questions on the home page for how they are produced and the disclaimer for the full statement.
